Website City of Eldridge Eldridge is a town/city in Scott County, Iowa, United States.

The populace was 6,162 in a 2014 census estimate; Eldridge is a suburb and also part of the Quad Cities urbane area.

Eldridge, the city's namesake, appeared in central Scott County in 1846, having purchased territory for $1.25 per acre.

Eldridge Junction, assembled on territory donated by Jacob Eldridge, was incorporated on July 2, 1871.

A fire heavily damaged the city's company precinct in 1904, and in 1918 a tornado of unknown strength heavily damaged or finished a several residences and the church, and killed three citizens .

The town/city began burgeoning in populace during the 1950s, starting with the formation of the Scott County Library System (a countywide network of libraries serving lesser communities in the area) in 1950, and the North Scott Community School District in 1956.

Eldridge hosts three of the seven enhance schools in the North Scott Community School District, which has its administrative offices there as well.
